Can a person have a baby without a partner?

Yes! Many states in the U.S. allow a single person to be listed as the sole parent on a child's birth certificate. This allows a single person to use Surrogacy to have a child that is genetically related to them without the need of a partner or a marriage license. Which States allow single parent Surrogacy?

In the United States, California. Colorado, Oregon, Georgia, Montana, and South Dakota all allow a sole parent to be listed on a child's birth certificate. Arizona and Illinois also allow a single parent to be listed on a child's birth certificate, but only if the child is genetically related to them. This is a non-issue with Surrogacy if the potential parent will be providing either the sperm or egg for the child.

For Single Men:

Men looking to have a child through Surrogacy will not only need a Surrogate but also an Egg Donor to provide the other side of the genetic material necessary to have a child. The donated egg will be combined with the Father's sperm to create an embryo. This mebryo will then be transferred into a Surrogate Mother for her to carry the child to term. For Single Women:

Single Women looking to have a child through Surrogacy will need to connect with a Sperm Donor and a Surrogate. The Sperm Donor will provide the other half of the genetic material used to make the child. The donated sperm will be implanted in the mother's egg and then transferred into the Surrogate Mother for her to carry the child to term. Select your Surrogate Mother, Egg Donor, and Sperm Donor

Finding a surrogate, egg donor, or sperm donor may seem like a daunting task; however, the experienced staff of Conceptual Options is here to familiarize you with the surrogacy and donation process and help you select the surrogate mother and/or egg donor and sperm donor that best fits your needs. Every surrogacy and donation cycle is different for each family, and working with Conceptual Options will help you navigate your journey to parenthood.

Start Medical Screenings and Paperwork

Now that you have selected your Surrogate Mother, Egg Donor, or Sperm Donor, the time has come for the complete medical screening of your surrogate and/or egg donor and sperm donor. Also, at the same time, the legal contracts will be drafted and finalized by the attorneys.

IVF Medical Cycle Starts

Upon completion of all medical screening and legal contracts, the IVF cycle will start with the IVF doctor syncing everyone’s cycles together. Once this is done, medications will start for the Intended Mother, Surrogate Mother, and/or Egg Donor. Within several weeks the egg retrieval will occur, and the embryo transfer will take place within 3-5 days following the egg retrieval from the Intended Mother and/or egg donor.
