Once you have made the decision that you want to donate your eggs, there will be a few important things to consider. What agency will you work with? How do you know if they are the right agency for you? Here at Conceptual Options we have laid out a checklist of what you should look for in an agency and what questions you should be asking before you start working with them. We go above and beyond to not only meet all of these criteria, but to excel at them as well.
The following are questions that you should ask when you first call or meet with an agency:
1. Are they a match making service only?
Conceptual Options is not simply a matching service. We will be there with you, supporting you, throughout your entire egg donation process as well as after your egg donation is completed.
2. Are they medical or legal providers?
Egg donation agencies are not medical or legal providers but the reputable agencies know what they are doing and are instrumental in helping you select an attorney, psychologist, as well as helping you get answers when the medical or legal aspect is unclear. Do not think that you will be left with inadequate medical or legal care if you go through an agency.
At Conceptual Options we have a full time clinical psychologist PhD on staff who conducts our psychological evaluations of egg donors, as well as providing on-going psychological support to our egg donors throughout their journey. For more information on our staff please visit our team page.
3. What type of support do they provide?
At Conceptual Options we provide the full spectrum of support for our egg donors throughout the entire egg donation process and beyond. We have a full time clinical psychologist PhD on staff who will conduct your initial psychological evaluation and will also provide you with emotional and psychological support during and after your egg donation. We also have case managers and a donor program coordinator who will be there for your through the process to answer any questions that you may have. If you are interested in finding out more about our staff please visit our team page.
4. How long will I have to wait before being matched?
Promises of being matched immediately are empty, as each case is different, especially when it comes to being matched as an egg donor. Depending on what parents are looking for an egg donor could be on our database for a week or a few months.
5. How long have they been in business?
Conceptual Options has been in business since 1999 and we work with a variety of IVF doctors and reproductive lawyers, who we will be happy to put you in touch with.
6. How are their donor's funds held?
At Conceptual Options all trust funds for our egg donors are held by an outside escrow agency or an outside attorney depending on the case. As you are looking for an egg donation agency, you should always make certain that the funds are held by an escrow company or by an attorney.
7. Do they carry Errors & Omissions Insurance?
Conceptual Options’ is fully insured against Errors & Omissions Insurance and will provide proof upon request.
8. Do they have an actual office and staff?
At Conceptual Options we have three convenient locations in California and a full staff of knowledgeable women who are there to help you and answer any questions that you may have. You are welcome to schedule a tour of any of our locations or you can see our convenient tour videos on our locations page. If you would like to learn more about our staff please go to our team page.

9. Is someone available to answer questions or take my call in case of emergency?
At Conceptual Options there is always a staff member available to answer your questions or to take your call in the case of an emergency 24/7.
Finally, remember that this list is in no way a fully inclusive list. Use your head and your gut before agreeing to anything. Making a list of pros and cons is also helpful before you select the egg donation agency that you are going to work with. Good luck!
