The Do’s and Don’ts When Becoming An Egg Donor with Conceptual Options

Congratulations! You’ve decided to become an Egg Donor and bless the lives of others. You will be performing perhaps the most generous act possible as you help others build a family. There is no other gift that is comparable to the gift of life.

Does donating eggs have a few restrictions while you are in the middle of your cycle? Sure. But that’s also why you’re compensated: to make up for the inconvenience and cover you for whatever discomfort that may incur.

If you’re considering becoming an Egg Donor or you’ve just signed your contract to be one, here are a few helpful hints when it comes to the do’s and do not’s of Egg Donation:

1. Don’t Smoke Weed

Weed: green is the new……green. We understand that many young women like to occasionally use cannabis for relaxation or pain. However, once you sign your cycle agreement, is essential that you stop smoking cannabis immediately.

If you continue to do so, it will show up and the regular blood work that needs to be performed, and it can result in a cancelation of a cycle. This is because no positive drug test can come back to the IVF clinic on your behalf.

If you feel like you have a dependency on weed, please state that to our wonderful team when applying.

2. Do Take Care

Take care of yourself during your egg donor cycle. You will be on hormones, and sometimes you will feel a little bloated. However, if you are performing a cycle in another city, then you will certainly have per diem, and you should take yourself to dinner.

And, another option – relax at your hotel, and get a massage. Do whatever you need to do to ensure that you are cared for during your egg donor cycle. This will help you have a smooth and easy egg retrieval and also help you recover quickly.

3. Zika Zika

You’ve probably already stated in your application if you have been to a country with a risk of zika infections. However, if you are signed on as a donor, do not go to a zika infected region. This includes Mexico! Steer clear until you have performed your cycle.

Going to a zika region will likely result in having your egg donation cycle pushed back by six months.

4. Do Ask Questions

It is better to be informed than to be left wondering what the next step is or if something is permitted during your cycle. Please, ask us all of the questions you want, and let us help you make a sound decision for a healthy cycle.

If you are wondering when or where you can travel, give us a call and we can steer you in the right direction (or to the right zika free zone).

Cycle On

During your cycle, there will be plenty of information and dos and do not’s. However, if you have any concerns or want more information, reach out to us at anytime. We are here to make sure you are cared for and feel comfortable and confident.

3 Steps Every Set of Intended Parents Should Consider Before Starting IVF, Surrogacy, & Egg Donation

The IVF road is a rewarding one, but it certainly has some challenges. We are grateful for new technology that allows couples to have a child who otherwise might not be able to. Sometimes the process can be overwhelming, but with a lot of patience your dream of having a child will come true.

However- there are many things to consider in the process as you journey down your road.

Yet, have no a fear. Here is a quick guide with a few steps to consider as you start your journey through the IVF, Surrogacy & Egg Donation process:

1. Where

When it comes to choosing where to perform your IVF cycle, it’s wise to do your research. There are many IVF clinics in the United States, but unfortunately not all are created equal. The truth is, reviews are invaluable. You can read reviews on any clinic that is in operation.

Also, ask around and see what other people’s thoughts are on the clinic.

And, do as many consults as you need to to feel confident about the doctor you are choosing to help you bring a child into the world. As Intended Parents, you are in control of many of the elements at the start of this process.

Do what you can to make informed, wise decisions to make your journey a seamless, happy, and successful one.

2. How

It’s important to consider how you want to perform your cycle. This process has many options.

Do you want a Surrogate that is close to your chosen birth hospital so you can take your child right home? What if the Surrogate is from another state but more affordable – or the surrogacy laws are better where the Surrogate lives?

Do you want an anonymous egg donor? How would you like to interact with your egg donor? Intended Parents should carefully consider if they want an open donation or an anonymous donation.

There are perks and drawbacks to both. How the journey is done is up to you.

And, let’s not forget – how many children do you want?

3. When

In the world of IVF, it’s all about the “when”. Lining up your timeline with your chosen Donor and Surrogate can be a very tricky recipe. That’s why you hire the best team in the world to coordinate a great Egg Donor and a great Surrogate for you. Let us do the hard work when it comes to scheduling.

Should I Become a Surrogate and Why?

Getting pregnant and having a child is not a possibility for everyone. For many, the road to parenthood is one full of obstacles and challenges, especially those suffering from infertility issues. The good news: help is on the way.

Bringing a newborn child into this world and starting a family is perhaps one of the greatest joys in life. If you have had a child before, then you know what a great blessing it is to add on to your family and bring your tiny one home from the hospital.

In 2018, IVF procedures are making it possible for people with infertility to conceive and have a child of their own genetic makeup, even if the couple is experiencing incredible difficulty conceiving on their own.

While there is certainly an emotional and physical commitment made, there are many benefits to becoming a Surrogate.

Here are just a few of the many joys of being a Surrogate for Intended Parents:

Do For Others What They Can’t Do For Themselves

It sounds a little cliche, sure. But the truth is you are giving a couple the greatest gift of all: the gift of life. You are doing something for someone that they can not do for themselves. This generous act you’ll perform will consume 9 months of your life, but you will literally carry their child into this world.

For this, Intended Parents will be truly grateful for helping them have a child. Their gratitude to you will be endless as they watch the child you helped bring into this world grow and progress. You will have an impact on an entire family that can never be forgotten. This will benefit you in ways you might not expect.

Becoming a Surrogate Has Many, Many Benefits

Most Surrogates become a Surrogate because being pregnant isn’t difficult for them. Some Surrogates even state that they enjoy being pregnant, along with the aura and energy it feeds them. Aside from enjoying a pregnancy, there are other perks as a Surrogate.

As a Surrogate, you will surely be compensated for the physical and emotional toll that will be asked of you. Though Surrogates are of sound mind, challenges will arise.

What gets a Surrogate through these challenges is their desire to help an infertile couple to grow a family.

Another benefit? The compensation a Surrogate receives is to ensure she is cared for and compensated for her time and her energy. Many Intended Parents provide services to their Surrogate to keep them comfortable during their journey as well, such as psychological counseling and surrogate support. The perks of being a Surrogate are endless. From the monetary aspect to the occasional massage, as you help bring a child into the world you will find yourself quite comfortable and compensated while doing so.

Love, Love, Love, Love

While every set of Intended Parents is different, most will want you to be a part of their lives to one degree or another. Even if you already have your own family, being included on text threads and birthdays will simply expand your circle of love and goodness.

You will likely have the opportunity to watch the child grow through intimate friendships that form, or through photo updates and other information.

Remember, you can state how involved you would like to be after the birth. If it’s not a fit for that set of parents, then we can match you with a set that fits your specifications. This process can be tailored to your desires, too.
